As of now, newly built residential swimming pools are limited to a maximum of 600 square feet of evaporative surface area.

However, there’s good news if you're considering a renovation. If you remove an existing pool that exceeds the current size limit, you're allowed to rebuild up to 80% of the original pool’s square footage. This makes remodels an excellent option for homeowners looking to update or upgrade their outdoor space while preserving a larger pool footprint.
